Fifteen years later, she and her family found themselves needing assistance again, this time due to job losses as a direct result of the COVID-19 crisis.<br\/><br\/>\u201cI\u2019m a school van driver,\u201d the Richland mother of three said. \u201cThere\u2019s no school, so there\u2019s no work for me.\u201d<br\/>Just a few weeks later, her husband also lost his full-time job.<br\/><br\/>\u201cThen it just hit home,\u201d she said. \u201cThe first week, it really hit us hard\u2026we didn\u2019t know what we were going to do.\u201d<\/div> <div style=\"text-align:center;\"><div style=\"height: 10px; overflow: hidden;\"><\/div> <a class=\"wsite-button wsite-button-small wsite-button-highlight\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lccm.us\/donations.html\" target=\"_blank\"> <span class=\"wsite-button-inner\">GIVE TODAY<\/span> <\/a> <div style=\"height: 10px; overflow: hidden;\"><\/div><\/div> <div class=\"paragraph\"><span style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Two job losses coupled with needing to pay bills and the stress that came with homeschooling three children was starting to take its toll.<\/span><br\/><span style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0)\">\u200b<\/span><br\/><span style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0)\">The Breens recently sought emergency food assistance through LCCM to alleviate some of the financial burden caused by COVID-19 crisis.\u00a0 Emergency food orders at LCCM provide a 2-week supply of food to individuals and families in need throughout Lebanon County.<br\/><\/span><br\/><span style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0)\">They gave me so much,\u201d she said. \u201cThey gave me frozen foods and meat. The meat prices are going up and on top of that it\u2019s harder to find.\u201d<br\/><\/span><br\/><span style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Her family isn\u2019t alone.<br\/><\/span><br\/><span style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Over the last seven weeks, LCCM provided 252 households with emergency food orders. Sixty-three of those households &#8211; including 192 individuals &#8211; sought assistance as a direct result of job loss related to the COVID-19 crisis. Households directly affected by the economic fallout ranged from individuals living alone to families of 7 and 8.<br\/><\/span><br\/><span style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Though life has yet to return to normal, Vanessa says her family is thankful for the help when they needed it most.<br\/>\u200b<\/span><br\/><span style=\"color:rgb(0, 0, 0)\">\u201cGod has been good to us,\u201d she said. \u201cI just feel hopeful. Right now, in the beginning, all of this is just the hard part.
